Victoria University of Wellington Scholarship for the year 2022 is calling for international students wishing to study in New Zealand for the Tongarewa Scholarships
The Tongarewa Scholarships are a $10,000 tuition-free grant for undergraduate and postgraduate students in their first year of study.
If an accommodation application is received by University Accommodation Wellington by the deadline, recipients of these scholarships will be guaranteed a place in one of the university’s Halls of Residence.

The Tongarewa Scholarship celebrates the university’s commitment to our international student community. These scholarships are awarded to international students every year.
This is a partial scholarship, with a fee and offset against the first grade tuition. Applicants can enter the first year of undergraduate or graduate research at Victoria University of Wellington.
The scholarships are awarded competitively on the basis of excellent academics. If you apply for study the following year, you will be paid a tuition fee. Finalists may be asked to provide additional information to support their application.

- A personal statement of up to 500 words explaining why you want to study at Victoria University of Wellington, your academic goals, and why you deserve a scholarship. It should also include details of leadership and involvement in the school and community.
- Complete certificate and other documents related to credential type
- Research proposal (conditional or unconditional) from Victoria University of Wellington.

The fully completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the deadline. Delayed or incomplete applications will not be accepted. All required supplementary documents (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the deadline in order to consider the application.
