“12 persons wanted over killings”, this was captured in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.”
The police force hereby declares the following 12 persons wanted in connection with a case of conspiracy, murder, armed robbery, an act of terrorism, kidnapping, cultism, unlawful possession of firearms, housebreaking, burglary, malicious damage, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace in Isu-Aniocha, Awka North LGA of Anambra State, Nigeria,” according to the statement.
According to Adejobi, the suspects include Edward Okoye (aka Stone), Donatus Okeke, Onyemazi Ngini, Onyebuchi Nwekeizu Okoye, Nonso Eboh, Chukwuka Onyibor, Chukwujekwu Anaekeokwu, Chuka Ilodigwe, Chinedu Nwoye Okoye, Nonso Awusionwu Obinna, Cosmos Okonkwo and Chukwujekwu Okoye. According to Adejobi, the criminals also assaulted and brutalized some mobile police officers.
“The Police had previously obtained a court order declaring wanted the accused, all males of Igbo extraction ranging in age from 25 to 55 years old, locals of Isu-Aniocha, Awka North LGA of Anambra State, with heights varying from 1.5m to 1.7m,” the statement continued.
According to the police spokesman, Okoye shot and killed two persons – one Ifeanyi Anazoba (aka Ichafu) and one Chukwuebuka Amodo (aka Mutum) – at a burial ritual in Umuzuocha Town Hall in Awka South LGA on January 19, 2019.
He went on to say that the suspects beheaded the two and burned their bodies beyond recognition, as well as kidnapping two more people and vandalizing two properties worth over N1.2 billion.
